I’ve been asked for my older stuff, so I’m sharing these with you.

Here are two versions of “Mimkomcha,”  There are a few… Radio personality Nachum Segal says his favorite was the very first recording, a 45RPM single recorded in the year 1979AD,. One day I’ll digitize that vinyl, since I have no master tape for it.

The first one is from “Man To Man,” my first solo album. VERY solo… In 1982, I couldn’t afford other musicians so I played everything myself.  I sang it in Sephardit, because I was told the conservative movement wouldn’t buy Ashkenaz.  This is the remastered version I put on my greatest hits tape, “Then & Now.”  Yes, I said “tape.”

The 2nd version is the 2012 á capella version I recorded in my native Ashkenaz as I originally wrote it. Here I also played all the “instrument.”

“Since my Jewish music career was built on my secular roots, my wedding band demos had to include American pop. Here are some of my favorites, which would never sell in da yeshivishe oilem (yeshiva crowd) or da chassidishe velt (chassidic world), but I’m sure they’ll enjoy listening to them here for free!”
